Great time in the beautiful Karoo.
I cannot give a fair rating of how a stay would be in normal circumstances but I think it would be a very pleasant place to stay. There was a local powercut that had already lasted more than 24 hours, and the backup solar system was barely functioning because there had not been enough sun. So it was rather dark with flickering low-level lights inside the house, and self-catering was out of the question. The host was kind and helpful, gave us gas to boil water for tea, apologized for the lack of hot water in the showers, and directed us to a nearby restaurant where we had a delicious meal much better than what I had been thinking of cooking. We slept well and had a cold shower in the morning. The host had given us info and passwords for WiFi, but it too was affected by the power outage. I don’t think this feedback of a very difficult time for them should be shared on your website.
Absolutely wonderful. Everything was of extremely high quality. Excellent and friendly service. The accommodation is very nice, tidy and very comfortable. Unbelievably beautiful view. We would love to come and stay here again - everything was beautiful and done with care - there is nothing you lack. Exceeded all our expectations. Would definitely recommend the stay.
Rented cottage but got only one room. Bottle of wine was a bonus. Clean and tidy.

We had a wonderful stay in the beautiful cottage. We especially enjoyed the quiet visit on the beautiful stoep. Many thanks to Pat, and Riana for their extra effort with the braai facilities, the wine tasting, and the deli delicacies. Will definitely stay longer next time.

Lovely big house. Very well furnished with a nice porch and a private garden at the back (perfect for our dog). We only spent 1 night here, but will definitely use the accommodation again. It was very reasonably priced and had everything we needed! Very friendly and hospitable - even when we arrived after dark.

Friendly reception, farm silence and a neat fully equipped house with a beautiful view. Add in a bottle of ice-cold wine in the fridge and a wine tasting just around the corner. What more does one need? Here you can switch off and just relax.
Incredibly beautiful place, with awesome owners. So really a home feeling atmosphere.
The cottage is a small old Cape style atmosphere house on the same site as the owner's wine cellar on a dirt road from Calitzdorp. There is a very nice view from the veranda equipped with comfortable chairs only towards Calitzdorp. The place is equipped with everything one needs and has a nice big fridge/freezer with a large thermo fan oven and glass top stove. The main bedroom is equipped with a ceiling fan which was very convenient. The TV only has limited channels and we missed the Afrikaans KYKNET channels a bit. We had no problems with WiFi and cell phone reception. Setting up a carport or shade net at the site can be a great asset for the hot summer days. We stayed here for 4 nights and explored the area from here.
We really enjoyed the visit/overnight there. Very quiet and peaceful environment. Security is good. Well equipped with the basic needs for an overnight stay. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
If you are looking for a relaxed stay in a serene setting, this is the place to be. Wonderful hosts. I was welcomed with a bottle of their own Chenin Blanc. When I booked, I didn't realize it was on a Port farm. The accommodation was top-notch.

Wow! Our expectations were exceeded. It's a real farmhouse - but big! The view is beautiful on all sides. It was bitterly cold, but the temperature inside the house was constantly nice, so that we almost didn't need blankets during the night. We were received very kindly, the owners really go the extra mile and are ready to answer any questions or offer help. At the reception there were delicious biscuits waiting for us, milk was already in the fridge for coffee and a nice bottle of their own wine was in the fridge. We really had a great time. The wine cellar with a large selection of wine and the most delicious pickled products is right next to the cottage. I just wanted to go and taste, so I walked away with 4 boxes of stuff! It is definitely a must if you stay there. I could really write an essay, but the point is - I highly recommend Du'SwaRoo and we will definitely stay there again! Something to perhaps consider if you are a family with very small children is that there isn't really an outdoor play area. Luckily it was rainy and the house is nice and big, so my child stayed busy inside. There was also a wooden block game set out on the table for us, which kept my little one busy for hours. This place deserves 10 stars, not just 5!
The place is clean, quiet, safe and spacious. Everything you need for a nice break. The solar power during load shedding is a nice bonus. Thank you Pat and Kallie for your hospitality, you made us feel right at home.
Pat and Kallie Calitz were very hospitable and friendly. Kallie is also the winemaker and his wine is of a very high standard. Pat's pickles and olives are delicious.
